To the Israeli people
A message to the people of Israel from an Egyptian citizen who sees the current events in the region as you do. You, the people of Israel, have the first and last word on the decisions of your president and leaders, and the ball is now in your court to determine your desire in the course of events.
The Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty that was signed in Washington, DC, United States on March 26, 1979, following the Camp David Accords of 1978, signed by Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and witnessed by US President Jimmy Carter, was one of the best agreements that maintained a just peace and stability in the Middle East, preserved the lives of both peoples, and led to development and prosperity for both countries.
However, your media began several months ago to stir up confusion and promote the existence of hatred from the Egyptian people against you and the existence of incitement by the Egyptian media against Israel, which is false, as we are not against the Jews or the Jewish people because we respect all religions and believe in the message of our master Moses, but we are against Zionism, persecution of others, racism, killing and exterminating innocent people, attacking others and terrorizing citizens.
The Palestinian people have the full right to reside in their state in freedom and dignity, just as you wish to reside in a homeland that was never yours.
Your government’s oppressive displacement policy against the Palestinian people has angered the Egyptian people and the great Egyptian army, and your army’s continued attempts to displace Palestinians across the border into Egyptian Sinai is a breach of peace, a violation of the peace agreement, and a threat to Egypt’s national security.
Your approach to crossing the red line will make you the number one responsible for what will happen in any confrontations with the great Egyptian army, the Egyptian army is a balanced and powerful army to the farthest limits, and I will not hide from you a secret that you will not be able to face it or face the consequences of a new war with a country of one hundred and ten million people and an army characterized by high readiness and brute force, which if it moves, you will continue to suffer the scars of this war for decades to come.
I call on all wise people in your country to intervene by removing your leader, Mr. Netanyahu, and demonstrating against your government to stop any irresponsible moves that lead to violating the red lines, you, the people of Israel, have the decision because you are the people of your nation and will bear the consequences of your leadership’s decisions, whether in peace or war. This is last warning. Take care of your decision.
Mohamed Khalil
